What Can I Eat Then?

What is a balanced Healthy diet?

I look at the leaflets and ponder the blurb that the nurse gave me, in order to find out what to plan and what to do.

"Pretty Easy" I thought. "Cut out some carbohydrates (carbs), stop eating sugary stuff completely and do more exercise.... I'll be fine"....... Or so I thought. Ha Ha Ha!

I have never been a frequent take away eater, so not really a problem cutting those out. Cut out fried food. The English do luv a fried breakfast (stereotypes eh?). I generally only had one per week, but it will have to go. Mmmm! Let me see now..... Pasta. Pasta's really fattening unless you are a marathon runner (stereotypes eh?). That'll have to go. Rice. I luv curry & rice, but it's a carbohydrate. I refuse to give that up completely though. "Right!!! Only twice a week".

Absolutely No Chocolate, No Cake, No Sweets, No.... No Crisps, No Sugary Drinks. No.... Nooooooo! None of it!

I'm Adament!

I'm Strong!

I'm Doing This!

Little did I realise, at the time, I have a sugar addiction.

Phew! This is much harder than I thought it would be.........

I write down what I generally eat daily. I notice straight away that I eat masses of white bread. "Arrgh... Carbs"! At that time, I was working permanent night shifts. I have a sandwich for lunch, during the day. I take two sandwiches for my packings up for lunch at work. They are only the ones I can remember eating daily . Oh Bummer! It's not looking good. Right! Wholemeal brown bread from now on. It's healthier. And less of it.

SORTED!

So what about exercise then?

I know.... I'll go to the gym. Years before I was very active and fairly fit. Despite being an extra large person. Shouldn't take me long to get back into it..... Yeah right!

I still hear the laughter ringing in my head
