Hi There I'm Billy

I'm a Type Two Diabetic

Living Life with Type 2 Diabetes

Small Changes - Big Outcomes

I’ve Wrestled with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) for Years Now

I've been at this long enough to spot the good advice, dodge the bad advice and laugh at the absolute clown-show of nonsense thrown at people like us.

I’ve done the diets. I’ve done the meds. I’ve followed the fads, the trends, and the “miracle fixes” that turned out to be about as useful as a chocolate teapot in a heatwave. Some things helped. Most didn’t. It’s like going on a blind date with food: sometimes you hit the jackpot, and sometimes you’re stuck with a plate of disappointment!

But somewhere along the way, I pieced together the stuff that actually works — the small, boring, practical habits, that made a difference to my energy, my numbers, and my sanity. Spoiler alert: they don’t involve fairy dust or magic wands!

That’s what this site is about: not perfection, not magic, just lived experience from someone who’d rather give you the truth than a fairy tale. (And trust me, my version of Cinderella doesn’t include glass slippers, just sensible shoes for all the walking!)

If you’re starting fresh (or rebooting for the fifteenth time), you’ll find the wins, the cock-ups, and everything I learned the hard way — so maybe you won’t have to. No gurus. No gimmicks. No airy-fairy unicorn juice. Just me, sharing what works in the real world. (Where my biggest fan is my couch!)

If you’re new to this, go and have a nose at the Facts & Stuff page. That’ll give a basic knowledge of what this disease is. Chances are, you’ve already been to a mega instructional, fact-filled website and probably got bored or confused with the jargon? None of that here my dears! Just delightful rabbit holes of honesty.

Then again, you could skip the lot and head straight to the Blog if you fancy some real talk? Real observations. Real experiences. (No existential crises included, I promise!)

One of the main purposes of this website is to let the reader know that you are not on your own. There are many, many more of us. We’re like a support group, but with more snacks and fewer sad faces.

And if all else fails, at least you might get a chuckle or two.
